Homecoming Candidates 2007

Homecoming is just around the corner and the Eagles will be hosting Pawnee City Indians! This year's theme is "I Don't Want to Stop." Activities at AHS will include: Tuesday-Class Color Day, Wednesday-Ugly Shirt & Tie, Thursday-Hillbilly Day, Friday-Spirit Day. Students and faculty are encouraged to dress up to win prizes. The homecoming parade will begin at 1:50 on the north side of the school and end downtown. The pep rally will begin at 2:00 p.m. with games and activities for the candidates. The pep rally will commence at 2:35 as this is the first Friday of the month and school will be dismissed and buses will run at 2:40 p.m. Presentation of Queen & King will be at 6:30 at the football field with the game to follow.

Axtell High School Homecoming Candidates 2007
Ashley Blonquist is the daughter of Ron and Janet Koch and Kurt Blonquist. Through high school Ashley has been or will be involved with volleyball (4 years), basketball (2 years), basketball manager (1 year), track manager (2 years), FCCLA (4 years), choir (3 years), band (3 years), yearbook (2 years), jr./sr. play (2 years), National Honor Society (1 year), cheerleading and dance (4 years), and scholars bowl (4 years). Ashley’s noteworthy achievements include FCCLA vice president of “Power of One” (2 years), student council president (1 year), freshman class vice president, sophomore class president, junior class vice president, senior class president, cheerleading co-captain (3 years), Who’s Who Among American High School Students (2 years), National Honor Roll, TVL All-Academic Team (2 years), and honor roll (4 years). Following high school Ashley plans to attend college but is currently undecided about where or what she will study.
Kelsea Heinen is the daughter of Doug and Linda Heinen. Through high school Kelsea has been or will be involved with volleyball (4 years), basketball (4 years), track (4 years), FCCLA (4 years), yearbook (1 year), band (3 years), choir (4 years), and jr./sr. play (2 years). Kelsea’s noteworthy achievements include student council vice president (1 year), senior class vice president, and freshman, sophomore, junior and senior class secretary. Following high school Kelsea plans to attend college but is currently undecided about where or what she will study.
Jordan Virden is the daughter of Jamie and Jeanette McElroy. Through high school Jordan has been or will be involved with volleyball (4 years), track (4 years), yearbook (1 year), student council (3 years), jr./sr. play (2 years), FCCLA (1 year), choir (2 years), and scholars bowl (2 years). Following high school plans to attend the American Academy of Cosmetology in Manhattan, Kansas.
Nathan Hollis is the son of Bruce and Kim Heiman. Through high school Nathan has been or will be involved with football (4 years), basketball (4 years), track (4 years), scholars bowl (4 years), FCCLA (1 year), FFA (2 years), choir (4 years), CCD (4 years), National Honor Society (3 years), jr./sr. play (2 years), and forensics (1 year). Nathan’s noteworthy achievements include TVL All-Academic Team (1 year), Who’s Who Among American High School Students (4 years), and honor roll (4 years). Following high school Nathan plans to attend Kansas State University and to choose a major in the field of science.
Stuart O’Neil is the son of Terry and Margaret O’Neil. Through high school Stuart has been or will be involved with football (3 years), basketball (4 years), track (3 years), scholars bowl (4 years), FFA (2 years), student council (1 year), jr./sr. play (2 years), and forensics (1 year). Stuart’s noteworthy achievements include freshman class president and honor roll (4 years). Following high school Stuart plans to attend Kansas State University and major in pre-veterinarian medicine.
James Shaughnessy is the son of Joe and Ann Shaughnessy. Through high school James has been or will be involved with football (4 years), basketball (4 years), track (4 years), scholars bowl (4 years), FCCLA (1 year), FFA (2 years), choir (4 years), band (2 years), jr./sr. play (2 years), student council (3 years), National Honor Society (3 years), and forensics (1 year). James’ noteworthy achievements include junior class president honor roll (4 years). Following high school James plans to attend Kansas State University and major in kinesiology.
