Marshall County Conservation Contest
February 14, 2008
Every year, students in Marshall County are offered the chance to participate in the Marshall County Conservation Contest. This is a poster contest in which students are given a theme and are asked to come up with a poster that represents this theme.
The students at St. Michael's Catholic School had the opportunity to participate by creating a poster to enter into the contest. After the posters are completed, they are sent to the Conservation Office in Marysville to be judged.
There were many students from St. Michael's who placed at the district level and are as follows:
Grades Kdg and 1st: Blake Porting-1st, Jonah Porting-2nd.
Grades 2nd and 3rd: Makenna Koch-1st, Anna Buessing-3rd, and Emily Ronnebaum and Anna Porting each received Honorable Mention.
Grades 4th, 5th, and 6th: Brice Koch-1st (Brice's poster was also selected to go on to the state competition where he received an Honorable Mention), Ashley Buessing and Christian Buessing each received Honorable Mention.
Not only were students recognized for their accomplishments, but teachers were as well. Mrs. Marla Porting, 1st/2nd grade teacher was recognized at the banquet for her contribution.
Thank you for everyone who participated in this poster contest, and a BIG congratulations to all the students whose posters placed.
