The Scholastic Book Fair in Summerfield

The Scholastic Book Fair at Summerfield Elementary was held December 11th through January 11th. Classroom teachers made out wish lists and any parent who wanted to could purchase a book for a classroom. A special family event was held the evening of January 7th during the Winter Concert. If a snowman sticker was attached to your program, you received a free $5 book. Students enjoyed a visit from Clifford the Dog after the program.
The total amount of books sold was $1,107.53. The school received $100 worth of books to use as prizes. The classrooms divided up the 40% profit from books sales and received $350 worth of books and a certificate for supplies.
Our thanks to all the patrons who supported the book fair with personal purchases or purchases for classroom wish lists. Reading truly can be a magical journey for children. Please encourage your children to read!!!
