Government Debate
by Loren Hulsing
March 24, 2008
On Monday, March 10, two students from the Government class participated in a debate in front of the student body. The debaters were Stuart O'Neil and Cody Ford. Each was to discuss opinions and facts about topics. The lists of topics were Public Health Care, NAFTA, Patriot Act, Iraqi War, Budget Deficit, Immigration, Stem Cell Research, and Ethanol.
These topics were selected by the Government class. Members of the class made up two parties which were randomly selected. Stances were given to the students on how they had to debate on each topic. Neither of the parties was listed as Republican or Democrat, because they both debated on issues from both parties.
