Excellence Electrified! Electrify your life! National Star Events Leadership Meeting centered on this exhilarating slogan. Bern attendees Amanda Meyer, Emily Lee, Mary Walker, and sponsor, Pam Walker all experienced this electric charge in their lives. The National Star Events Meeting is sponsored through the group of FCCLA;  Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America. This national event was held in the sunny city of Orlando, Florida.  FCCLA blew in a storm of excitement with over 5,000 participants from all over the U.S., Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.

Most of the students were there to compete in Star Events. Emily Lee and Mary Walker had their own project that was centered on Interpersonal Communications and communication in their families.  Proudly, they improved their score from the State Star Events and earned a bright and shiny gold medal to bring home.

There were more than just Star Events competitions going on the week of July 12-18.  Many great speakers were invited to talk to the members.  One spoke about how to live life to the fullest while another focused on future careers. Yet another speaker enlightened the listeners about how to stay on the success trail of life. They all had something informative to share with the students there.

Of course, who can go to Florida without visiting some of the many attractions? The four Bern FCCLA fanatics visited places such as Sea World, where they saw Shamu, the orca, and many other sea creatures; Universal Studios; and Cocoa Beach, where the sand was hot and the water was cold.

Overall, the National Star Events Leadership Meeting was a very memorable experience for all of the students that attended.  It helped them to electrify their lives and encourage other people to do so too. So be electrified!
