Leuthold Vaults to the Top!

Senior Rachel Leuthold successfully defended her 1A pole vault championship from 2007 with a vault of 10’ 6” to claim a second consecutive title. In doing so, she also broke her old school record of 10’. Rachel will be attending McPherson College next fall on a track & field scholarship. Joining Rachel on the medalist podium was freshman Laura Baumgartner in 7th place with a vault of 8’ 6”
Rounding out the Bern squad were senior Bryson Haverkamp, finishing in a tie for 14th with a throw of 146’9” in the javelin and sophomore Ben Leuthold, who finished 10th in the pole vault with a vault of 12’ 0”.
